Why Do We Need To Know Our Identity In Christ?

Once you know who you are in Christ it can change your outlook on life…it can change your life.  You will realize that you are a child of the one that created the entire universe.  He loves you so much that He sent His one and only son to die for you so that you could have eternal life!

Regardless of what may be going on in your life, regardless of how you feel about yourself and regardless of what people think about you.  The truth lies in the Word of God, it has the final say in your life.

Don’t let anyone tell you who you are, ask yourself “Who does God say I am?”  Then make a conscious decision to believe those Bible verses about identity and purpose.

Satan loves to make us feel that we don’t have self-worth or that we are insignificant.  That is part of his plan.  Do you know that the enemy has a plan for your life the same way that God has a plan for your life?

The enemy's plan is to steal, kill and destroy.  But satan doesn’t have the final say in your life God does.  That’s why we need to know those Bible verses about identity so that we can resist anything that the enemy has to say with the word.

Make a list (that’s what I do) an identity in Christ list so that you can read it over and over again and say it out loud so that the enemy will know that You know the meaning of your identity in Christ.

You are so important to God.  Your life matters to Him and He has a wonderful plan for you.  We are all part of the body of Christ which means every one of us plays a significant role.  Just like all of your body parts are needed and are important, that is the same with the body of Christ.

Think about your baby toe, it may seem small and unimportant to you were to lose it or injure it, it would make walking, running, or jogging pretty hard or even impossible.

So remember no matter how insignificant you may be feeling you are important!  To the body of Christ and to God.

You are who God says you are!

What Does The Bible Say About Identity In Christ?

Romans 8:36-37

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Deuteronomy 28:6

Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.

Ephesians 2:6

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

1 John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

John 1:12

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Isn’t it amazing all of the wonderful things that the Bible has to say about you?  Read these scriptures over and over again, meditate on them until they begin to settle in your spirit and you start to believe them, then you won’t have to ask yourself anymore…” Who am I in Christ?”

Ask the Holy Spirit for revelation and illumination.  Use these scriptures against the enemy when He comes and tries to tell you a bunch of lies about yourself.

You can stop him immediately and say “satan I know who I am in Christ!”

Your Heavenly Father says that you are the light of the world, you are blessed, you are an ambassador of Christ, you have the mind of Christ.  Believe what God says about you!
