Encouraging Bible Verses For Fall

Encouraging Bible Verses For Fall

July 02, 20248 min read

Some call it Fall, others call it Autumn, for me I never enjoyed this time of year.  It meant that summer was over, and it was time to usher in the cold.  But as began to study what fall really represents, I started to look at it differently.

When you look at what is happening during this season you will see the beauty.  Yes, the trees are getting bare, but the beauty of it all are the leaves that are changing colour and beginning to fall.

As we go through these fall Bible verses, think about the greatness of our God and how wonderful He is that He even gives us signs in each season.

What Does The Bible Say About Fall Season

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Fall season, the grass and the flowers may be fading in the natural but be thankful that our Heavenly Father never changes.  Some may be feeling sad and maybe even depressed as the warm season leaves.

Just remember you can always have the same joyful feeling you have in the summer, in the fall season if you keep your eyes focused on the Lord.  Don’t look at your natural circumstances, look to your great God!

Reminds me of a song we sing in church to turn our eyes on Jesus, then the things here on earth fade away as we focus on Him!

What Does Fall Represent Biblically

As I began to study fall/autumn, I realized that it’s not all about the negativity of summer being over, but it was a time to gather all that you have planted and reaped.  It’s a time for harvesting and isn’t harvesting a joyful time?

Harvest

Psalm 107:37

And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

As we do our part to sow in the natural as well as in the spiritual, we will yield an increase.  But of course, it depends on what you sow.  If you are sowing seeds of doubt, and fear instead of faith, that is the fruit that you will reap.

Your life will be a reflection of that, and you will not live the victorious life that you were created to live.  However, if you sow seeds of faith with your words and actions, then your life will be a testimony to others of the goodness of God.

As you live this life showing God's goodness, according to Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

So, it’s the goodness of God that brings repentance, as others see God’s hand on your life, they will want what you have and that will lead others to repentance.

Psalm 126:5-6

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

I know that sometimes life may get you down but continue to sow…sow into your prayer life, sow into your relationship with God, sow financially into the Kingdom of God.

As this verse says you will rejoice once your harvest comes in.  The verse actually says you shall doubtless come again with rejoicing.

So there is no doubt that you will reap your harvest, what a promise that we can look forward to daily.

Jesus Return

James 5:7-8

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Wow, what an amazing reminder that we can look forward to Jesus’ return.  Just like a farmer must wait and have patience until the rain comes and waters his seed.

Then the crop will grow, and he will reap his harvest.  That is the same patience we need to have as we wait for the Lord's return.

Thanksgiving

Isaiah 9:3

Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

1 Corinthians 3:7

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Be thankful in all things.  Yes, we do our part to plant, water, and care for our seed, but in the end, it is God who gives the increase.  It’s not based only on our ability, we need God to play a part in it, for it to grow.

Just like when we are believing God for a specific situation in our lives, we do our part, but it all comes together when God steps in and starts working on our behalf.

Bible Verses About Fall

Bible Verse About Leaves Changing Color

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

There is so much in this fall Bible verse.  This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible.  As a believer, when we do what is Godly and are obedient, we will reap a harvest.

Godliness brings a reward.

It says so right in this verse, we will be fruitful, we will always be blossoming.  During the fall season the leaves wither and fall off, but that will not be us.  I love the end of this verse…all that we do will prosper.  I just want to add to this, we prosper when we obey the will of God and walk in the plan that He has for our lives.

Don’t go off and do what you want to do.  Ask God what He wants you to do, then follow His plan, you can’t fail.  In Psalms 127:1 it says Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

So, we want to ensure that we are always building what God has called us to build, then we will reap the rewards.

Bible Verses About Seed Time And Harvest

Genesis 8:22

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Mark 4:26-29

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

The Bible says that as long as the earth remains there will be seed time and harvest.  So, I’m not worried about a food shortage, or there not being enough to feed our growing population.

The earth is still here, and I believe what the Word of God says over anyone in power, or in the government.  God will always and has always provided for His people, we only need to believe.  Put your faith in God, not in the systems of this world.

We are in this world, but we are not of this world according to John 17:16. God is our source…repeat that…say…God is my source.  Your job is not your source, the government is not your source.  God is your source!

Psalm 37:25

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

I pray that you were encouraged by these fall Bible verses, meditate on them, and allow God to speak to you through His Word.

If you came across this article and you’re not a believer or you were a believer and you strayed away from God and you want to make Jesus, the Lord of your life say this prayer:

Jesus come into my heart.  I turn my back on sin and I repent, and I trust in you.  I confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior.  Thank you, Jesus, for saving me.  I accept by faith the free gift of salvation in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, then you are saved, congratulations and welcome to the family of God.  I will give you the advice that my pastor gave to me, you need to pray which is talking to God, that is how you build your relationship with Him.

He loves you and cares about everything that concerns you.  Read your Bible every day.  Go to church, find a Bible-believing church and tell someone that you are saved.

Ephesians 1:17-19

I pray that the Lord would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
